The Mars Rover Opportunity landed in 2004 and is still roaming the red planet eleven years after its expected demise. It's up there looking for ancient lakes, rivers, and signs of life. It recently had its flash memory reformatted. UPDATE: It completed its mission in 2018. Opportunity was operational on Mars for 5111 sols.
